The Proposal Story ♥
It was Wednesday December 28, 2011, our anniversary for knowing each other exactly 7 years. We had mostly spent the day doing random things, nothing too crazy. We went to the Apple store so Hai could get his iPhone, then went to go visit his mom at her nail salon. While we were driving to each destination, we talked about what we were gonna do for our anniversary. I recommended that we go out some place nice to celebrate 7 years, and Hai agreed, we just couldn’t agree on a place. Hai was being rather persistant about going to one place, and since it was our anniversary and there was a chance that he was gonna propose to me, I just gave in to whatever he wanted to do. He also casually mentioned that he wanted to go to this one park that’s kind of close to his house and we’ve gone to several times together. I didn’t really think anything of it. So our day went on, so far nothing too special and then Hai decided that it was time to go to the park. We were driving up to the park and I noticed he wasn’t taking the normal route that we usually take to the park, he was going in the direction of the part of the park where he first told me he loved me. That’s when it hit me. I KNEW what was going on. As we pulled up to the parking lot, I just kind of walked around casually, waiting for Hai to lead the way. He started walking in the direction of the bridge — the actual place where he first told me loved me. He just walked around nervously for the longest time on the bridge and just came up behind me and gave me a big hug and said “so I had this whole speech planned out but I’m so nervous I forgot it.” That’s when I really started freaking out, so I turned around and I just looked at him and said “uh huh…” (((((; and he said “Jessi I love you so much, and I know we have a lot to plan out but…” then he got down on one knee and said “will you marry me?” and he pulled out a Ring Pop! Lol. So he put the Ring Pop on my left ring finger and said “I want you to wear this ring for a little bit before I give you you’re actual ring.” so I wore it for like five minutes and then he said “okay, can you take that ring off” then there was a long pause… (or at least it felt really long)… “so I can put this one on.” and then he pulled out my actual ring and I just started crying and crying. I could not stop hugging and kissing him. Once I was done freaking out — for the most part, I pulled out my phone and my mom was the first one on my list to call, and I was screaming when she picked up. (: Then I proceeded to call everyone else on my mental list, it was so good to hear so many people who were estatic for me. A couple of our friends soon showed up and took us out to Olive Garden to celebrate! Our waiter was so hilarious. When he first showed up at our table, I announced that Hai and I JUST got engaged and he kept giving Hai marital advice with every visit to our table. It was great though. Soon after that we went back to Hai’s house where A LOT of our friends showed up to have a party to celebrate our engagement. This consisted of lots of beer pong, haha. I ended up drinking a little too much and was the first person in bed. But overall, it was a great day(: I won’t ever forget this story.
